Dungeons of Horrors

Chef's turn Vampires

“Dungeons of Horror”
Halloween has always mesmerized all along, to dress up the fears of what one posses has always been there for every single one of us,
And hence when the News of staging a themed lunch arrived I hurdled up my team to dig in what we can churn, The Bar was already placed at a very high level as the Chinese Festival where the Dragons of Peking were brought to us by the beautiful ladies and the Hunks of Bodhi Spa,

The task was simple yet taunting, the minds of chefs were squeezed a bit to pick the Crème de la crème,
The Ideas flowed in from the Masala Minds and the Chutney Hoppers with a little tiny winy bit of tempering the aroma was quite Irresistible to plunge on to the floor with inflated spirits was the need for the hour,
With a bit of help financially we were off to the Vendors who rent out costumes for Cinemas and with a bit of smart street Shopping we got all the goodies to drag the devil out,

The Decoration turned out to be the way we wanted….Below are a list of pictures which might give you scary memories…one could ask (Tina & Jeevetha)

Lollupattu .....on October 17 2009

It has been a tradition to conduct food festivals monthly for various departments by the Human Assets at Radisson GRT Chennai,And it is quite a colourfull interpretation of the themes and cusines along with the entertainment to follow.A Tag of 2 time winners of the ocassion, the onous was on the shoulders of the Production team to stage up a performance that would defy odds.
Under normal circumstances the festival takes place during the end of every month,But since the the festival of lights was dated on 17th of November it was appropriate to stage the ocassion on 16th of november,
Choosing a theme was quite easy as we had no other option than to try a theme which revolved around Diwali the first thing to flash before our minds was to depict the story of Diwali.Hence we hit the internet in search of the origanal versions of the story which lead to festival of lights to our surprise there was more than 3 versions. Finally we came to a conclussion that since it is for an entertainment cause why not spring a cocktail out of it.Keeping in mind we interpreted the the story as a comical one with historical characters in it.In our invitation we did mention that this is soley a perfomance and gave a guideance that its only for the reason for comical entertainment and it is not meant to hurt any emotions. On the first instance we wanted to try a folk theme which revolved around "Bommalattam" (Puppet show)...Due to financial crunches and keepin recession in mind we opted out. Then we choosed the other equally entertaing stage folk perfomance of "Villu Pattu"As we are blending the epic for sheer entertainment we called it "lollupattu".with an enthusiastic cast we tried to blend Kollywoods Music to pepper the ocssionOur casts includedLollu Pattukaran: Rajendar RaoLeelai Krishnan or Raman: Aamod SharmaSita: "Karuppu" GaneshHanuman: KaleemuddinRavana alias Narakasurra: Janakiraman
